There are a lot of ways to improve the English proficiency of the students. However, for students who already have excellent English speaking skills, ICE hosted a separate program to harness their talents even more. This is through the KMUTT Debate Society. This is a club intended to recruit students with potentials in debate and argumentation to eventually represent the university in inter- university debate competitions. Trainings were organized for the members of the club before joining the actual competition.
Target Members: All undergraduate students who are interested to join the Debate Society, and are willing to improve their skills in argumentation and analysis.
Plans: The core group of the debate society has already been formed. However, the team is in dire need of more members to strengthen the society. KMUTT must come out stronger for the next debate tournaments. Thus, for interested students, please contact ICE, CB 4 Ground Floor to register.
- The debate society has organized a 7- week pre- competition training and workshop. This is scheduled every Tuesdays (17:00-20:00) and Thursdays (12:00-17:30). The program will run from March until April 2013. At the end of the training, a grand debate tournament will be hosted by the society.
- Some representatives of the society joined the training program hosted by another university last March 2013. The said program has invited Ms. Sharmila Parmanand, a renowned world debater, to facilitate the training.
