Production Engineering (PE)

About Department

The Department of Production Engineering was established in 1960 with a policy to produce graduates and postgraduates to be leaders in both production technology and industrial management in the manufacturing and service sectors. This is so that all graduates from the department have theoretical and practical knowledge and can learn new technologies and apply them to their work effectively. Engineers from the Department of Production Engineering will help develop industries in terms of production technology and management, helping organizations to increase productivity, profits, and work efficiency, and resulting in the development of the country to progress even further. The department aims for students to practice practical skills. It has prepared laboratories with standard equipment and tools, as well as laboratories that are specialized technology units of the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), such as the metal casting technology unit, metal cutting and forming laboratory, modern factory machine tool laboratory, and computer laboratory for product development and design, etc. There is also cooperation from the private sector and academic cooperation with many foreign universities.

Graduate Opportunities

Graduates, master’s and doctoral degrees from the Department of Production Engineering are able to work in the public and private sectors related to both production and service in each field of study efficiently, such as government agencies, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, the Petroleum Authority of Thailand, Thai Airways, the automotive industry, the oil, petrochemical, electrical, electronic, food industries, financial institutions, multinational joint ventures, some of whom run their own businesses and are very successful, and some of whom continue their studies both domestically and internationally.

Curriculum
  • Bachelor's degree

Bachelor of Engineering Program in Production Engineering

The Production Engineering (PE) program at KMUTT focuses on the importance of both Production Engineering and Industrial Engineering subjects in parallel and in harmony. This is to ensure that graduates have excellent knowledge and skills in production engineering, including metallurgy, welding technology and sheet metal, along with management knowledge. They can analyze, plan, control production systems, improve quality, and manage production organizations efficiently and systematically. This is a clear difference from other universities’ industrial engineering programs. Industrial engineering students must practice various engineering disciplines in accordance with the identity of a technology university in order to become engineers who know how to work hard like BangMod engineers. Furthermore, cooperative education has been added. Fourth-year students who choose to enroll in cooperative education in the second semester will work in an industrial plant for 1 semester.

Bachelor of Engineering Program in Mechatronics Engineering

The Mechatronic Engineering (MCE) program at KMUTT is a mechatronics engineering program that focuses on supporting production work. It has the ability to integrate knowledge from each field of study, including industry, electricity, electronics, and mechanics. It can apply various sciences to design, create, and control production processes and automatic machinery used in production, as well as design products and other tools that are mechatronics.
